Maple PowerTools are free add-on Maple packages and academic courses.

Maths Education PowerTools are academic courses developed in Maple by university professors to help teachers and students use Maple in their mathematics classes.

A complete set of 40 Maple lessons for an undergraduate course in PDE's. The course covers linear spaces; Fourier series; symbolic solutions to the heat, wave and Laplace equations with various boundary conditions; numerical methods; and general theory of first-order PDE's.

A set of Maple lessons for high school Precalculus or Elementary Analysis. They are designed so that a teacher can present each topic as he or she would during a normal lecture but using Maple as the main presentation tool.   A set of Maple lessons for high school Trigonometry. They are designed so that a teacher can present each topic as he or she would during a normal lecture but using Maple as the main presentation tool.

A set of Maple lessons for high school Algebra I and Algebra II. They are designed so that a teacher can present each topic as he or she would during a normal lecture but using Maple as the main presentation tool.   A set of Maple lessons for high school Geometry. They are designed so that a teacher can present each topic as he or she would during a normal lecture but using Maple as the main presentation tool.

A set of 29 Maple lessons covering an undergraduate course in Cryptography. Topics include the Caesar cipher, the Vignere cipher, RSA, El Gammal, and symmetric block ciphers such as baby DES, DES and AES.   A set of Maple lessons to cover a complete undergraduate course in Ordinary Differential Equations. Topics include analytic solutions of 1st order DEs, graphical solutions for IVPs, Laplace transforms and more.

A complete set of Maple lessons for 1st semester calculus including topics such as differentiation rules, max and min problems, mean value theorem, Riemann sums, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and more.   A complete set of Maple lessons for 2nd semester calculus. Topics include solids of revolution, applications of integration, integration techniques, sequences, Taylor series, conic sections and more.

A collection of 25 classroom demos for 3rd semester calculus. Topics include multivariable limits, bivariate Taylor series, Lagrange multipliers, vector fields and gradient fields.   A set of Maple lessons for a course in Calculus IV or Vector Calculus. Using the new VectorCalculus package in Maple 8, students are introduced to vector derivatives, differential geometry, integrals over vector fields and more.

100 student projects developed for the first three semesters of calculus. Honors projects are included.   This set of 30 lessons covers a complete undergraduate course in Linear Algebra. Topics include visualizing linear transformations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors and Fourier approximations.

This set of lessons covering an undergraduate course in Abstract Algebra. Topics include finite groups, subgroups, and cyclic groups.   A Maple 7 package for vector differential operations, curve analysis, coordinate system conversions, and multiple integrals.

This package of 49 Maple classroom modules is designed to enliven the teaching of mathematics curricula at the high school, community college and university levels.   This set of 30 Maple classroom modules covers operations on matrices with symbolic and numerical elements.

The MathClass package provides Maple functions and techniques for constructing textbook-quality mathematical diagrams.   This package provides over 130 Maple functions for exploring concepts in probability and statistics.

If you have developed a comprehensive Maple application package specializing in the area of Mathematics Education and would like to see it included as a Maple PowerTool, please send a proposal to Waterloo Maple Applications Marketing

Product Reviews

"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand."
- Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency

"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired."
Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks
